Description
This Italianate architectural two-story property was built in 1865 by the Bennington Manufacturing Company as the Bennington Mill's Company Store and is zoned for both residential and commercial use. Bennington Manufacturing also built the 1865 Mill Building at the Holden-Leonard Complex in the district, sharing the same manufacturing materials, design (the cornice and corbel details are almost identical) and outstanding construction integrity. Eventually, the Mill properties were leased to various shopkeepers and businesses and the second floor was used as apartments which still exist today.
